Since I was a little kid, I’ve always loved food. My mother would cook all day, we were a family of six, and that was a must in an Italian house. We lived in Rome. At the age of 7, my mother thought me my first recipe. It was a dessert. The Panna Cotta. I enjoyed the feeling of being appreciated for what I’ve created, and that’s when I thought: When I am an adult, I will become a chef and I will have my own restaurant.
I came to Ireland in 1999, thinking to start a new life with the new Millennium. I worked in several places before opening my own restaurant in Bandon, in 2002. In 2004 I met Natasha, and since then we’ve always been together. She is a foodie like me, so we got on from day one. It’s Natasha and my late friend Dan who always told me: you should move to Cork ! Their confidence in me and my food made me think they were right. So when I saw that the former Bullys premises were available, I decided to make the big step and move the restaurant from Bandon, starting a new adventure.
